Ajvar feta cream

This ajvar feta cream is a delicious dip that goes perfectly with bread, vegetable sticks or pita. It can also be used as a spread for sandwiches or as a side dish for grilled meat and grilled vegetables. Enjoy this Mediterranean delicacy!

Ingredients:

  • 150 g Ajvar (mild paprika seasoning paste)
  • 100 g feta cheese
  • 100 g cream cheese
  • 50 g crème fraiche
  • 3-4 dried tomatoes in oil, drained and finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • A few fresh basil leaves, finely chopped (save some for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

Preparation time: approx. 15 minutes 
Difficulty level: easy

  1. Place the feta cheese in a bowl and mash it with a fork or spoon until it has a creamy consistency.
  2. Add the cream cheese, olive oil and crème fraîche and mix well until smooth.
  3. Add ajvar, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, minced garlic and finely chopped basil. Stir well until well combined.
  4. Season with salt and pepper and adjust the seasonings if necessary.
  5. Pour the ajvar-feta cream into a serving bowl and garnish with some chopped sun-dried tomatoes, a few basil leaves and a touch of olive oil if desired.

The cream will keep in the fridge for 2-3 days.
